I've been using two of these on my 300 gallon reef setup. They throw quite a bit of light and my corals are maintaining pretty good. 1 more light would probably be needed for good growth. The one thing I wish these had were the reflectors that gave the water a shimmering effect like the metal halides that i replaced.

I love the idea of LED for salt water tanks. The main drawback to LED is the cost. I thought I'd take a chance on these since they were so much cheaper than lights of comparable wattage in other brands and so far, I'm glad I did.The lights seem to be pretty well made in an all metal case and they are certainly bright. The fans keep them ice cold and they are very compact in size. I bought one for my 46 gallon bow front tank that has fish, live rock, inverts, some coral, and even a deresa clam. The clam is a not as light demanding as some, but is doing great under these lights. Time will tell on the longevity though.

I am replacing a 150w HQI and when I put this over my tank it was almost the same amount of light. If anything it is a little bit brighter. It looks like a 20k bulb with it being a little bit bluer.
